A cold-blooded serial killer is carving up bodies... Who's next?
Still reeling from his wife's unexpected and violent death, Federal Agent Clayton Munro must ignore his pain and throw himself into his work as a profiler on a time sensitive case. With a serial killer on the loose in Sydney, he is forced to team up with the local police in an effort to stop the vicious murders.
Lead detective, Ellie Cooper doesn't let her tragic past stop her from anything. Determined to uncover the details behind the murders, she refuses to be distracted by the arrogant and handsome federal agent new to the case.
But as corpses keep piling up, Ellie and Clayton are under pressure to capture the criminal while keeping their anger—and attraction—at bay. With Ellie at the top of his hit list, this particular killer is more dangerous than either of them realize. Can the profiler save her before it's too late?

I thought this started out really promising. But after only six chapters, I had to quit. Generally, the writing was pretty good. EXCEPT, there were so many bodily reactions that at first it was comical, then it became downright irritating. Compressed lips. Gritting teeth. Clenched stomachs. Narrowed eyes. Shudders. Flushed faces. Flaring eyes. Tensed jaws. Burning gazes. Then drilling gazes. More flushed cheeks. Eyes turning wild. More compressed lips. Then pressed lips. Then pursed lips. Suppressing a grin. Suppressing a shudder. Suppressing a shiver. Lots of groans (for no apparent reason). And on and on and on. I've never seen so many references to physical expressions in my life. Add to that the fact that the the mystery is almost immediately derailed by the lead characters' lusting after each other and I felt I just couldn't go on. Too bad. It had potential.Product details

The Profiler The Munro Family Series Book 1 edition by Chris Taylor Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Ok, lets begin to say that the author is promising need someone who place him in the right tracks & an analysis of what he wrote. I giving 3☆ for good characters, grammar & love story. Ok?
That say, I continue
1. The genre is not accurate, is more romance than anything else. Needs to be relocated.
2. The main characters are more involved in look at their bodies than the crime.
3. The; oh's, ah's, grunts of the main characters sounds more that they're having (sex or a heart attack).
4. Knowing who did the crime, so early, is a spoiler in the 1st. installment of the book, specially if is a series. Show your cards one at a time.
5. All that tragedies repeat it over & over & over is like filling space. Expose the problem but don't duel all book on that. That means the reader close the book or jump pages.
MY PERSONAL VIEW Indie Authors doesn't had a troupe of people behind them (like when you had a Publish House, PR, etc).
They had to work hard to publish their books for themselves. Lets help them, you can post a positive real deal review pointing what you find out of the box and don't had to bite the authors head.
Lets face it "big name authors" are basking in their "earn names". Indies are working hard & they're the future of literature.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I'm a reader of many years and I'm in for Read, Revise & Review. (If apply)
I 'm honest for me, other readers & authors. If you don't do that & reach the authors how we can had better books?
I figured out the killer the moment we met him so I was hoping for some twist at the climax, but it was only a flat tire. I also figured out the son connection so that wasn't a surprise either. There were only four real mysteries in this novel. First, what seems like a week turns out to be two or three months time. All sense of actual time flow is lost. Also, why a profiler hangs around the case for this long is odd. Aren't they mostly like consultants... In and out in a day or even just review the case and send their thoughts digitally? Then there are the spirits coming to tell them to move on with their lives as if this were suddenly a sci-fi novel. Finally, how they just let the wife go even though it appears that our heroine heard the conversation about the wife's involvement in the other deaths. She is just as much a serial killer as her husband.
I almost forgot the fifth mystery, why the killer had to ride a roller-coaster to kill her? It makes no sense. My guess is it was a plot foil so our heights-fearing hero could overcome something to save the day since this and grief are his only weaknesses.
I will probably not read any more of this series because the blurbs sound as contrived as this one.
I downloaded the book, The Profiler by Chris Taylor, based on the positive reviews. I should have looked through some of the negative reviews too. I managed to get through about 40% of the book before I gave up on it. The spark, the mystery, the inability to stop reading was never going to happen. The detective part came across as flakey, more like a side story thrown into the melee to extend the book length. None of the detectives or the profiler seemed to have the knowledge necessary to do their jobs. The romance between two mature adults was not believable. Why did the female lead hide having lost a child? There really was no reason. Why did a profiler have to stay for as long as he did? Once he did his profile, he should have been out of there. Most of the profanity was pointless. The wife's reaction to her murderer-husband's hobby was totally unrealistic. I clearly won't be reading any more in the Munro series. I don't think the book Is properly classified. It should be a Romance, The suspense was missing.
